How do you fancy dragging yourself around a marathon length circuit and ascending the equivalent height of Ben Nevis
all within 12 hours?
Join us on the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge this April and raise as much money for the Zukuka Bora Coffee
Project as possible!!
How do we get there?
We will be starting from the Horton-in-Ribblesdale train station and the route is circular so we will also finish at the train station.
There is a train departing from Manchester to Leeds at 5am and a train from Leeds to Horton-in-Ribblesdale at 6.20am.
The last train to Leeds departs at 9.05pm, so if we finish in the target time, we should be able to squeeze in a celebratory drink or two.
There is also car parking available in the village, but please encourage car sharing as spaces can be sparse.
Driving also provides more flexibility when travelling home.
Can I do it?
Go at your own pace!
Completing the circuit is an achievement in itself. That being said, completing the circuit within 12 hours will prevent us from walking in the dark.
There is an easier route back to the train station at approximately 1/3 and 2/3 of the circuit should you admit defeat.
Fitness training is recommended and the best way to prepare is to walk!
Getting out and about on the hills on the weekends leading up to it will also be quite fun.
Completing some decent mountain walks will prepare you mentally as well as physically!
Can I invite others?
Yes. This event has been merely organised a meeting time and location, so if other people want to join then make sure they also raise as much money as possible!
It must be highlighted that each person is responsible for their own organisation and safety.
EFOD will not be organising any transport or medical assistance.
What will it cost?
The event is free as we are a walking group and not an organised package.
A return train ticket to Manchester is approximately £ 30.
Driving is the cheapest option - please car share to reduce travelling costs and increase our fundraising.
