The EFOD Cycle Challenge - 2018

With winter slowly passing and the clock change on its way I thought it was about time to make sure you and I have something
on the horizon to incentivise yourself to get outside and on a bike! For those who are not already familiar with what this challenge is all about
we pile into a coach on the Friday afternoon to get to our start location. The next day we then proceed to ride back over the course of the
weekend! The routes always include some of the finest riding and scenery you'll get to experience in the UK, a support crew and vehicles,
your body weight in bananas and getting the opportunity to find out what you are capable of on a bike. Then if you need a metaphorical cherry
on top, it is all in aid of a great cause - this year the funding will be going directly towards an ongoing nursery and school build project in Uganda.

and you may also donate directly :

This ride is open to absolutely anyone so please do forward this on to friends, family, colleagues, clubs, acquaintances, enemies etc...
All we ask is that you are keen, have a working bike and will endeavour to raise sponsorship for your undertaking.

Fund raising for Faith School -   the EFOD Cycle Challenge - 2017

Whether you were a rider, supporter, observer or innocent bystander, hopefully you were aware of this year's EFOD Cycle Challenge. Each year this event tempts in both experienced and complete novice cyclists into riding a ridiculous distance over a weekend through the beautiful countryside of Wales.

On the 17th and 18th June 2017, 55 riders took on a demanding route.

Our team.

Resume - With blistering heat ( yes, a genuine heatwave in Wales! ), the steepest hills I could find, numerous mechanicals and the occasional wrong turn, all the riders set out to cover 338km and 5,632m of ascent. Crossing Snowdonia, Central Wales and the Brecon Beacons was never going to be an easy challenge. Fortunately the 15 dams on route, numerous vistas, lakes and stunning landscapes made every mile that much more worthwhile. A huge congratulations to all the riders is due, whether they made the whole route or just as far as their legs ( or bike! ) could carry them. This year's ride was one of the longest and most hilly yet; certainly one to be proud of!

Total Raised - £ 12,330 !! A huge thank you is due to all the sponsors, riders and especially the support crew. Clichéd I know, but it would not have been possible without you. This year, your efforts have helped raise that whopping total! This will go a huge way to kickstarting EFOD Cardiff's next project - a nursery and primary school build in Uganda.

Special thanks must go to the following:

Arup - A continual sponsor of the ride, giving both match funding of totals raised and time for organisation.

Mott Macdonald - Another loyal EFOD supporter. Their support goes a huge way towards numerous EFOD projects year on year.

Eurovehicle - The support each year with the provision of hire vehicles at charitable rates goes a huge way to converting costs to significant money raised for the charity. Thank you.

Thomas Martin - the greatest individual sponsorship this year - £ 595!
An incredible effort. Thank you again.

Oh! Dam!

A well earned break.
